GRP-based design solutions for mechanical engineering
There are plenty of applications for fibre composite materials in mechanical engineering. These range from the cover on a salt spray test unit to a housing for a pastillation belt and all the way through to cladding parts for construction machinery. We also design load-bearing GRP components for your machines. We simply need to make sure that the benefits of fibre composite materials or composites are harnessed to the full to ensure that the solution also makes economic sense.
No corrosion
Fibre composite materials consist primarily of glass and resin, Neither of these rust.
Weather- and UV-resistant
We can design your component to make it weather- and UV-resistant.
High mechanical strength
Fibre composite components can be created in such a way that they are light yet able to withstand high mechanical loads. Let’s discuss your project.
High chemical resistance
We can select the resin formula for your application so that it is able to withstand specific chemicals under the defined general conditions. Talk to us!
Electrical isolation
Fibre composite materials have electrically isolating properties. Nevertheless, if necessary, carbon fibre composite materials or composites can be fitted in such a way that they can conduct electricity. This is because there’s not just one type of fibre composite material.

No flying sparks
Sawing and grinding glass fibre reinforced plastic usually just causes dust that can be vacuumed up and cannot be breathed in. It does not result in any flying sparks.
Low weight
Fibre composite profiles are light, with a density of approx. 1.95 g/cm³. A workman can easily carry a U-beam with a cross-section of 200 x 80 mm, a length of 6 m and wall thickness of 8 mm on his shoulder. Just try doing that will a steel beam!
Lots of design freedom
You can create beautifully designed parts using fibre composite components. All sorts of features are possible, including cavities, undercuts, corrugation, radii, and much more. Give your creativity free rein and have a chat with us.
Very high-quality painted surfaces
We also offer high-quality painted components like those seen inside and outside buses or trains. We have experience of creating products with textured or gloss paint, metallic paint, sanded surfaces, multicoloured logos on the component, and much else besides.
Impact resistance
If you drop a fist-sized rock onto an approx. 3 mm-thick GRP panel from a height of 1 m, you’ll notice that the surface is scratched. Such an impact would not typically cause a dent, as the material returns to its original state.
Permeability to radio waves
Generally speaking, fibre composite materials do not contain any metal and are thus permeable to radio waves.
